Default need help?

I'm brand spankin new to this thing called a velodrome...but I'm hooked.
My problem is that unlike the road, I can not find any information on how to train on a track.
Right now I've been riding 3-4 days a week on the road for endurance and 2 days on the track. But like I said I get to the track and don't have a clue as to what to do?
Does anyone know of a book, magazine, website, etc that could help me out. Beter yet could some one just lay out a plan here?
I did find a work out on Fixedgearfever.com but it might as well been written in greek, I've read it about five times and can still not make heads or tails of it......so on that note any help would be great.

What event are you training for, anything specific. When I first started I just did laps, getting a feel for the track and the fixed gear bike. Also hooked up with a few people and got shown how to hold a wheel properly and heaps of track etiquette stuff. Once your confident riding around the track at varying paces, and comfortable going right up the top of the bank, then u should start thinking about programs

Default Re: need help?

[Ah....sorry, as soon as I posted I realized I should of been a bit more specific. I'm looking to race sprints and kerins (sp?).
I should of said I've been on the track about 10-15 times at 1-3 hours each.
A lot of what I've done to date, is to get to know the track as it has 44' banked turns. That took a bit to get use to and can still be a bit unnerving.
I should say I have road raced in the past (17 yrs ago) so bike handling is not much of an issue. I have done a bit of paceline riding and have road a number of times when the track was full of riders. I feel I'm at a point where I need some actual structure to my track sessions.
Like I said my biggest problem is getting to the track and having the whole place to myself for a few hours but not knowing what to do.
Any thing anyone could say would help... Thanks
