Default Lefty - problems...

On my first ride on my Scalpel, I noticed that the front fork needed pumping but didn't have a pump. I took it out the day after and the fork started bottoming so I locked it out for the ride. This didn't help; the fork just moved to the lower stop and stayed there.

I got a shock pump and pumped it but each time I unscrew the pump, I loose pressure - is this normal? Do you just have to be very quick?

Also, is there any reason the fork would just loose pressure in the first place?

Any responses are appreciated...

Cheers

Ssushi

You don't say how old the fork is.
Dealers recomend a 6 monthly service,yep don't we all.
the valve shouldnt be releasing the pumped air so it looks like you'll have to get to the dealer.

The fork is on a second hand bike I just bought - it's about a year old but clearly rarely used.

I pumped it up to 130psi and it seems to be holding that ...
