Just saw a news report on SBS about this road race to be held at Cronulla next Sunday. Anyone know the time and an URL for it? Sounded interesting and quite accessible.

It's a pretty full day of racing, kicking off with Masters at 8am. The main event is on at about 12pm from memory, with lots of divisional racing in between. I understand the promoters have secured 90 minutes of TV broadcast on Channel 9. I'm not sure if this is delayed or a subsequent highlights package. I'm racing in the masters and have a few friends in the elite mens race just prior to the invitational mens race. --brett |

A week without an internet connection in the Victorian countryside and I didn't get my act together before I left. I just check the online entry and there's a $20 late fee, so it's now $50.

Not a bad little course actually. A bit in it for everyone. It's gonna be a killer when a hell southerly kicks in
![]() Shame the pack wasn't willing to work to close down the little break in the Masters race before it got away. And good on big Jim Moore for taking out B Grade - he should have had a ticket in the main event IMO, along with Lewis who rode with him for 2nd. They made the rest of the field look downright silly. |

it wasn't so much the pack not wanting to work as a case of team mates controlling the race quite well, though having said that there was a lot of disorganization in the bunch, which the nature of the course lead to a bit. also a certain well known hack who decided to go a lap down and rejoin into the break adding to its effort. it was a good course, and a good day of racing and it would be nice to see the event continue next year. --brett |

Sure teamwork came into it, and that was always going to be expected. And I agree they pulled it off well. But I still take umbrage with anyone who simply refuses roll through - it's just plain rude. Its not like they can't control the pace once they have rolled through. Even one guy in a rolling line of 8 or more can slow and/or disrupt the line enough to destroy a chase. |
