Okay.. I live in Germany, and I will for the next 2 or so years (at least) I have been interested in owning a recumbent Trike ever sinse I went to the beach and rented one to ride. I couldn't find a brand or any info about the bike, but it was really fun. it was probably 8 years ago or so that I rode it, and became interested. I have test driven 3 or 4 recumbents, and I found that I really wanted a trike. I tried the trikes with 2 wheels in the back.. that was a no go for sure... but I wouldn't test ride a tadpole style because they were so expensive, I was afraid. Now that life circumstances have changed... I find myself yearning after the trikes yet again. I want a tadpole style, because the standard style was too unstable at high speeds. I'm here in Germany next to a little shop called speedfun. I have researched the different styles, and.. without test driving, mind you... I have found I prefer the larg back tire, uss, and of course, the tadpole style. I am looking specifically at the "Sinus" from Thorax. It will cost 3,000 Euro.. and with conversion rates how they are.. well.. that's close to $4,000.. alot. The shop owners don't speak english, and I don't know much german.. only enough to know that he would sell it to me for 3,000 Euro. Does anyone have input about this company, thorax? Or foriegn trikes? I will be saving for a long time to get it, but I'm hoping after this winter I can get one, and begin commuting to work, and touring Europe. I'd like to take it on a tour all around the entire coast of Ireland. Anyways... Any thoughts? Are there cheaper alternatives to get me on the road now? I'm sortof obsessed lately, with my recent effort to lose weight...

I test rode 8 or so recumbents including the Catrike tadpole. Then I began researching all available tadpoles. Recently purchased the Actionbent recumbent tadpole with the 26" rear wheel from a seller on ebay. Wow! I am having more fun now than ever since I’ve been biking. 200+ miles in the last 4 weeks!
