I have been riding for 2 yrs and have recently developed a soreness where, at times, can barely put my buttocks on my seat!! I am going on a bike trip to Spain in 4wks where we will average 50 miles a day for a week. Any suggestions to get rid of my pain?

My saddle is only a month old. I have been riding about 3-4 times per week. If I lay off 1 week, should I notice a difference?

Check Bike set up Maybe your new seat is not at the same height as the old seat, maybe you need to re assess your setup Maybe see a specialist - osteopath ? stretch after cycling good luck! Last edited by Meeba : 09-09.-2006 at 08:39 PM. |

Basically when you experience a problem with something that was previously fine, the first question you ask is - What has changed?
In this case, you have a new saddle, so you need to look at it. I agree with Meeba, check your setup - is the saddle at the same height as the last one? Is it level? Is the fore-aft position the same? Stuff like that. I get really bad pain in my left ischial tuberosity if my saddle height changes by only a few millimetres - you wouldn't think such a small amount would make a difference, but in my case it does, so it may be the same for you. |
