A better idea is to use a credit card which gives you cash back. Check with the bike shops in your area, some have credit cards that give some pretty good discounts when you sign up for them. If you have the cash, then charge it to get the discount and pay the card off when the bill comes in. If it's a nice bike, the discounts could make a big dent on the cost of the accessories such as a helmet.
