Hey, guys. I have been riding my mountain bike(Giant Boulder SE $300) for little over 3 months now, in that 3 months, I have been riding about 900 miles. And I figured, I was riding more on the road than a moutain, so i need a road bike. Now Here is a little problem, not quite sure which road bike I should get.
I don't want to spend more than $1800, but If I would like to keep my budget as low as possible. A bike I am seeing right now is a Fezzari Catania Road Bike MSRP at $1350, but on www.costco.com it's $949 www.Fezzari.com. And I was looking at the Giants TCR 3. I know it's a good bike, but if i can keep my budget low, I'll be happy. If you guys know more of other bikes that you can recommand, please do so and tell me why. I am going to start competing in Triathelon, and going to do the Ride from San Fransico to Los Angeles. I want comfort and lots of speed. Anyone have Fezzari Catania, or know about it? thank you, sean |

Hi Sean. I don't have this and actually never heard of it. BUt I did check out the website. It looks like a fairly decent bike. However I would look around at local bike shops, an LBS here in town has a 2005 Bianchi Giro which has a nicer frameset and wheels than the Fezzari Catania for only $1050. |

Hi sean, i looked at the web sight too and it looks okay. The only advise that i would like to give you is that when your spending that much money on a bike, it is worth looking in to what local bike shops can offer . You may pay a bit more for a well known name brand but lets face it, how often are you gonna go out and spend this kind of money for a bike. Remember, you want someone that is going to stand behined their product right? So buy something that will be right on the money from the get-go and you will not be sorry.
good luck, mike |
