felt f75 or cervelo soloist

First off im new to this forum but not to cycling I used to race last year as a junior but was hit by a car and was not able to ride for long time. now to get done to buisness i've ridden the soloist (AL)and man is that bike stiff but while i was in the shop I say the felt F75 for a lot less and seemed nice but all they had was 52cm. but i got fitted to another model so i know the size. What is all of your opinions on how these two compare and is the felt worth it. Thanks in Advance

I would go the Felt , they are put together better than most Cervelos I have seen.

The design, frame construction, paint are all excellent. But, the way they attach some of the fittings...

If I was given one, I would completely dismantle and reassembe it before riding!!

Anyway, I'll comment as a Cervelo owner. I own a Team (actually two now, thanks to an inattentive motorist and a sucessful insurance claim).

I think the Cervelo is excellent value. The frame is stiff yet is still quite comfortable. Full of really interesting engineering. Excellent power transferrence. Handles well. And good componentry too. The Easton wheels go well, ultregra gruppo, good saddle. Can be coverted into a ghetto TT bike easily. And the anodized finish is excellent- no scratches even after the 4wd ploughed into me. I imagine you'd need a dremel to scratch it

Downsides: It does weigh a little more than some other Al frames (ie 200g more than a really light one- still a light bike overall)
Had some trouble with a slipping seat post, but that is better now
The aero seat tube means that the side of the tube gets covered in crap, not just the back. I'm stuggling here.

Haven't ridden a Felt, but my feeling is they offer really good componentry for the money. But the neatness of welds etc is not as good as others. Not that this will necessarily effect the bikes performance.

If money is no object I would go the Cervelo. But there are lots of people out there who are thrilled with their Felts. Take em both for a spin

definitely the soloist. have a look at the scott cr1 pro at that price range aswell. i am thinking of getting a soloist with centaur or ultegra myself. Definitely the best value at that price.

I enjoy my Felt, but I would have to say that I would probably pick the Cervelo out of those two.


My Felt has become my back-up bike and now my new C-dale six13 is numero uno.

Hi,

I bought a Cervelo Solist Centaur about two months ago and have not looked back. Great bike well worth the money. I have had no issues with assembly or quality.

Although I would agree ride a few bikes before you decide. I dwindled my choices down to three.

Well I've got a Felt F1C and my god it is an absolute beast of a bike, words can't describe! I realise this doesn't relat to the F75, but They've got my trust.

Don't get me started on triathletes. Sluggo wearing, mechanically inept, dirty, dribbling, elbow steering spawn of Satan. Anyone who sticks food to their bike is a disgrace IMHO.

I would take the F1C or F2C over the Cervelo and the F75.

I was real close to buying the F3C as my 2nd bike, but the six13 was the ticket this time around. That bike is surprisingly comfortable for a fast bike.

Still hope to put many miles on my 04 Felt F45 even though I have the six13.
