Hi
i was reading a tour anniversary book last night and was looking at the merckx years. when he won he would often not only win the time trials and mountains but would also win bunch sprints! there are a few other riders who have done this too so following yesterdays prime sprint between ullrich and armstrong i was wondering if anyone thinks that we will ever have a tour winner who would mix it in the sprints? or are the sprinters too good, and there is not enough benefit in the 20s for a win for the effort involved? incidently the book also reconfirmed my belief that hinault is the second greatest rider of all times Martin |
