hi,
i am thinking of purchasing the merida kalahari 590 mountain bike and am wondering whether this is a good buy. I know little about bikes or whether this is a quality bike so could someone please tell me. also i was wondering what you all think of disc brakes, is it worth getting a bike with disc brakes? the bike comes with rst shocks-are these good? thanks, |

Yeah, I'm looking at a Kalahari 590 too. The AUS$470 seems good for the components.
I've only heard bad things about the Suntour XC forks, but these seem pretty standard for bikes in the $500 price range. I like the Alivio fd, as many bikes I've looked at only offer Acera or Altus. The Giant Rincon '04, the Norco Bushpilot '04, and the Diamondback Response '04 all seem to offer similar components for roughly the same price. I don't know much about mountainbikes, and would appreciate some advise. |
