I am building up my trusty old Trek hardtail as a ss/fixie for off-road use. I snagged a super deal on an ENO equipped mavic mtb wheel, had most of the other parts as this is now 1 of several ss rigs in my stable. This will be my first mtb though. I want to use 165mm cranks for clearance reasons and would like a 110 BCD, however a 94 BCD is cool as well. Square taper.
What are you folks using? Conventional cranks with ss chainring bolts? Or I guess what I am getting at is there a solid ss designated crankset that isn't above $100-$150 US? I've seen the White Industries and the Race Face as well as the Truvativ but I am looking for something priced lower. There a few nice 130 BCD road/track bike cranksets in my spending range but nothing I've found in the usual mtb BCD. Also I guess chainline is important as well. What works well w/ an ENO hub? Thanks Craig |
