Umma wa Wapanda Baisikeli Dar es Salaam (UWABA) is a new cycle user group in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania campaigning for better cycling conditions in the city. Anyone interested can have a look at http://www.geocities.com/UwabaDar.
Are there any similiar groups in Africa? I have already found BenBikes in South Africa and Namibia. However, other organisations seem to always focus on giving second hand bikes away and focus on rural areas - I am interested in urban areas cycle campaign groups. Also I notice a lot of people here are in to recreational cycling in Africa - in Tanzania you might want to check out http://www.afriroots.co.uk |
