Default A guide to carbs

Should I avoid the pasta's, white rice, and baked potatos or are these carbs okay. I've lost about 15 lbs since I started riding(3-4 months ago), but could stand to lose another 5-6 pounds. I am trying to establish a healthy diet that I can live with and maintain but really confused on the role of carbs in the diet. I am currently riding/jogging about 4 times a week.

There's nothing bad with pasta, rice or potatoes. It's how you cook them & what you add to them that you have to worry about, e.g carbonara, fried rice, potatos baked in oil are ok occassionally, definitely shouldn't be part of your weekly diet. The best strategy is still to burn more calories than what you eat, whether they're carbs, protein, fat, etc.

It's a hot topic. Why don't you continue doing what you are currently doing, as you have lost plenty of weight already.

I have seen some great results by going low carbs, but if you do go down this path, make sure you put them back in once you have reached target weight, as you will need to feed your body to get fitter/stronger.
