Paul McCartney (Macca) and Heather Mills have decided to split. There is now a message posted by Macca on his website explaining the situation and asking people not to believe the press gossip.
Apparently Paul went to France while Heather was having her operation on the amputated leg but kept in touch during the operation. Sources suggest Heather was too controlling, didn't get on with Stella McCartney and resented Macca's fame and popularity to the extent of herself being pushed out of the public eye. Also she claimed Macca was boring, had to virtually force him onto shows like "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire" and get him to go out and socialise. She also hated him smoking dope while on tour. There is talk of a 50 million settlement. Macca is worth some 500 million. http://www.paulmccartney.com/main.php |

At least the settlement isn't going to cost him an arm and a leg.

I saw a bit about this in the weekend newspapers. Hard to know what to make of it. Is it that Heather is jealous of Macca and feels left out by all the attention that he gets? Or is it a case of where the media has actaully made life difficult for them?

The sources say Heather was very bossy and didn't show Macca the respect he's accustomed to. She disliked his reserved nature, the fact he's apparently a bit tight and especially his friendship with George Michael (on acount of their smoking reefers in his studio). Neither could she get into the tours or tolerate the joint-smoking while he was doing all this travelling about.
She was known to publically be-little him or send him packing when female lady friends came to visit. So, Macca winds up fleeing to France strolling about on his own. I don't think they should give up on the relationship. It seems they should hire a marriage guidance mediator between them and identify the problem. You have to bear in mind Heather carries a lot of baggage. She's an abuse survivor who also lost a leg in an accident. Despite that, she does a lot of work for charity and I don't think she was after Macca's money. My advice is they should both get professional help so they can get a persepective on the whole situation and maybe see one another's point. Quote:

They both have a son so maybe she wants to see her offspring better off than Julian Lennon who winded up being left out. They say, Macca is known to be a bit tight. He sent his daughter Stella to a regular state school which she never lets him forget apparently.
The guy is worth 500 million but apparently he hardly socialises or goes anywhere but Heather is a good deal younger and I think she wanted a more exciting lifestyle. She probably is a bit of a bitch in some ways but a lot went against her - an abusive background and the accident e.t.c. I know how it is. My own girlfriend was probably worse than Heather Mills for being bitchy. I wasn't allowed to eat before she had sat down after cooking the pizza and once she threw me out in a rage. It was after her romantic candles caused my eyes to react to contact lenses and I didn't have my glasses with me. I was accused of ruining her preparation and evicted from the flat. Even worse, I was savaged for not wearing a suit and tie and being scruffy. In the end, I fled the situation too and I recall many blazing rows at the time - which she always won. Quote:

I didn't know that Macca was still indulging? I assumed his healthy lifestyle would have prohibited usage. Maybe not. Yeah I read about her charitable work and she does seem to give time and money to causes. Have to say when they announced their engagement I was surprised - given their age difference.

There was a pic of Heather in todays Mirror taking off by plane to Yugoslavia. She appears gaunt, thin and exhausted. She's had a lot of bad press but I still think she has done a heck of a lot for charity and seems to really care about these causes she stands up for - such as seals and landmines.
It's a shame the two of them couldn't maybe give it another go but the marriage seems to be in real jeopardy. The fact Macca wasn't with her during that operation won't have helped matters. |

She was a native of Burgos but, I might add, extremely rich. She had shops all over Spain so I suppose I could have married into money. Would the tongue lashings and naggings been worth it though?
I do sympathise with Paul's problems and can understand where he's coming form. Heather is probably a wonderful woman but she nagged the poor bugger to death. Now I'm wondering whether Guy Richie will also rebel? Quote:
