Has anyone tried using muscle relaxers before bed during long/hard events? I was telling my massage therapist about a 4-day charity ride I'll be doing and my worry about the increased suffering I'll be feeling every day/night. She mentioned that during a multi-day kayaking trip she took Robaxacet before sleep and that she felt good in the morning?
Any comments about muscle relaxers or other supplements (Traumeel, Ibuprofen, etc.) for such rides? |

Train so you aren't sore is the most obvious answer. IF you feel the need to take a muscle relaxer, try it beforehand. Often people can't shake the effects the next day and you will be screwed. Traumeel works well. Ibuprofen works well for soreness. For a safer approach, dose proteolytic enzymes on a empty stomach before each day and in the evening. Studies show they can be as effective as NSAID's and steroids, but without the harmful side effets. For me, I would just train harder and maybe use enzymes but forget the other crap. |
