Default Where to ride in South Wales?

Hello all,

Pretty much a simple thread this, as per the title 'where's the best off -road locations in South Wales are, particularly in the Caerphilly County area'?.

Look forward to your replies, thanks.

Talking Re: Where to ride in South Wales?

I've cycled pretty much the whole ridge that constitutes the Caerphilly basin and I can recommend all or any part of it as excellent off road cycling. My favourite bits are the ridge above Bedwas with its fantastic views into the Sirhowy Valley, the forest behind the Maen Llwyd pub near Rudry and the ridge that separates Caerphilly from Cardiff, oh and The Wenallt valley. I haven't tried the Garth mountain near Taffs Well for a few years but I seem to remember it was really good. For a couple of quite hairy decents you could go up to the forest next to the quarry in Machen or the forest called Y Graddfa above Llanbradach.

Hwyl fawr,
Neil
