Hi,
I was just looking for a bit of advice on buying my first racer since I was 10! I've been doing MTB since then and am toatally clueless!! I've seen a Claud Butler number, all carbon, 'Strada', and the one above it, which I can't remember the name of. I realise it's all carbon, and feels light as hell, but why is it so cheap? I also looked at the Trek 2000 which looks absolutely beautiful, but is mainly alloy and a lot dearer, as I'm sure you will know. Now, which is the better frame!? I'm aware the components on the Trek are a lot better, but as the frame? Will I simply be paying for Lance Armstrong's advertising or what. Been told about the different grades of carbon, but does this matter a great deal? If I went for the Claud Butler, would the rear triangle fall off in a years time even if I didn't crash? Bearing in mind I'm sub 10 stone. Much help appreciated - it's a jungle out there! Beannachd leibh, Daibhidh Rothach P.S. If anyone fancies, they can reply direct to my e-mail on daibhidhrothach@hotmail.com. |
