Default TV for Youth Tour

Two major developments have given a boost to the organisers of the three day youth cycling stage race in their bid to make the Isle of Man event the premier one of its kind in the British Isles.

Entries - at over 100 - are already nearly double the figure for last year and agreement has been reached for Greenlight Television to produce a highlight programme for broadcast at a later date. Confirmation of which channel will be using the footage is yet to be announced, but the race is to be transmitted throughout Europe, thus raising its profile considerably for future years.

Isle of Man based firm Greenlight Television is known worldwide for it motor sports coverage, filming events such as the Isle of Man TT races, British Rally Championship and recently filmed the Manx End 2 End Mountain Bike race which was screened on Sky Sports.

The tour - from April 28th to 30th April begins at 7pm on Friday April 28th with the prologue on Douglas Promenade. Next comes the road race on Saturday, over a course in the Ellersie area - the younger riders setting off at 10am followed by the juniors at 2pm. The programme concludes with a circuit race at the National Sports Centre on the Sunday, starting at 10.30 a.m. and this is followed by the prize presentation. There will be leaders Jerseys, a large prize fund along with Trophies up for grabs.
