Another proud dad moment (race recap + pics)
Today the Little DeViL participated on his first track race, we visited the track last week and rode our roadies on it as training but had no clue on the types of races that he'll be doing.
For us the banking was intimidating, more to me than him but right at the first lap he was climbing the banking and riding on the whole course. It took me a bit more time to get brave and ride the banking but after some encouraging words from the kid I did it (come on dad, don't be a wuss) and to our surprise we both liked it. He participated on the 200m, 400m and chase finishing 2nd on every race. Pics          He loved track and can't wait for next week's race. |

I have a couple little ones dying to get out on the road bike. What age do they start kids racing? |

Where is that track? How many meters around?
Kids in the USA have races beginning around 12, but younger kids can do some special events. There are classes for young kids at the Hellyer Park Velodrome in San Jose. www.ncnca.org |
