What in your opinion is the best all around xc tire to have on a bike. Do you ride one kind in front and another in back? Let us know.

I like the Continental Vapor tyres, in my experience they're a great all rounder. The older Explorer tyre is very good too.
I've tried Maxxis Larsen TTs and wasn't particularly impressed by them, especially on anything other than hard packed terrain.. they just didn't feel anywhere near as grippy and confidence-inspiring as the Explorers/Vapors are.

Panaracer Cinder 2.25" on front, Panaracer Fire XC 2.1" on the rear with the tread facing the other way. I found more control with the wider tire on the front on the first ride.
Cinder is tough, proven here in the Arizona cactus and goatheads. |

www.airfreetires.com
we have airfree tires that cannot go flat on five bikes. We are pleased with them. I weigh 275 and get best ride on 26x1.9 high resilient Unidirectional +30% , and 26x1.9 Ocelot high resilient +30%. |

Hutchinson Pythons are an old favourite in our part of the world. Great on hardpack, average in the gravelly stuff, and only really suffer in mud.
My personal fave is the WTB exiwolf - its still great on hardpack, but is a lot better in gravel and softer stuff, although still definitely not a mud tyre. |

currently running Nevegal 2.1's but will be going back to Kenda Karma Pro Stick-E 2.0's when its time to change...the Karma is an XC racing tire, not intended for AM, but IMHO is the fastest rolling tire out there |
