I was wanting to get this bike and I wanted to see if anyone has one and what they thought of it.

have it and love it... brakes are a bit weak.... and the fork kinda sucks, but it does its job. i replaced mine with a rockshox pilot and it is a much better ride.
i say get one... its a good bike to start with and develop your skills with, and once you get better its a good frame to put better components on |

My brother has always been a fan of specialized bikes. He stopped riding for about 5 or 6 years tho and started up again last year. He bought an 05 hardrock, but not the disc version. He was pleased with the bike but ended up buying a new one this year because the hardrock wasn't suited for his needs. It's good for riding fire roads and easier trails but we have been riding singletrack and almost every time he took the bike out, something broke. He ended up upgrading to a rockhopper disc this year. Maybe he just rode the bike too hard, who knows, i'm far from an expert. But my brother is a pretty good rider and he quickly outgrew this bike. I guess it all depends on what kind of riding you are gonna do. |
