Default Stag (Hen) Party's : are they worth it ?

My pal is getting married in April - but he's having his stag weekend, this weekend.
There is a crew of reprobates travelling to Derry this weekend, of which I am one.
The party travel to Derry and are staying there on Friday and Saturday night.

Unfortunately (or maybe that should read, fortunately), I can't make it on the Friday night but I will be there for the Saturday night's fun and frolics.

But it got me thinking.
As you get older, these sort of "let's go mad this weekend…….." occasions are
becoming less and less appealing to me.
Marriage, family life have set in and the thought of going out and getting ratarsed become less palatable.

Getting older now (40 this year)……..cups of coco in the evening, are on the horizon.
Middle age is round the corner.

Do you enjoy stag (or hen) parties?

Derry?

everyone knows that Dublin is the world capital of stag parties.

i think they are basicaly an excuse for a piss up for a bunch of lads that dont really need an excuse.

if i were you i would go, its not often you get a weekend pass from the wife, and you are allowed to get pissed into the bargain...

not bad..

This is exactly why you HAVE to go!! You have to show your friend what he's in for. Show him what he's got to look forward to in the coming years. Marriage, family, middle age, if he's smart he will learn from watching those who have gone before him.
Plus, if they're thrown right, they are good excuse for getting shit-faced and act foolish.

3290 : I never looked at it, that way.
"Hey Joe, don't do it - you could end up like me"

I can't go out on the piss anymore - my resistance levels (to alcohol that is)
have died a death in recent years.
Drinking 10 pints and then hitting the shorts just doesn't appeal anymore.

When I got married, my sister in law took me to one of the casinos to see the Chippendales; it was harmless enough.....

Well I didn't mean just.....that. There also the drinking, acting crazy, fighting, (I was in one wedding where all the groomsmen showed up black and blue-Those strippers were a tough crew.) telling your friend that they're making the biggest mistake of their lives. Or telling the groom that he's got a great girl there....and you and the others groomsmen should know ...Oh, yeah, that was another fight.

"Getting shit-faced and act(ing) foolish?".Are you seeking treatment for your "Do-Do problems"?

Really?... and do adults use phrases like "Do-Do- problems"?
Can't help it,just have to burst out laughing when I think about the mentality of someone who (mis)uses language like that and claims to be an "adult".It's funny enough that someone even uses a phrase like that, but to go on the net with it?Do you have some sort of psychological need to humiliate yourself in public?

OMG,the years of laughter just keep rolling down my cheeks...

Weekends over. Did the reprobates get together and defile virgins, dance with loose women and drink strong cider?
