They are like blocks of ice.
At home sometimes my toes are freezing, so you can imagine out cycling they are cold even with my old neoprene overshoes on.
Has anyone tried the Pearl Izumi AmFIB Shoe Cover or Northwave MTB High Overshoe or can suggest a toasty alternative. Yes I did see beltabouts post ! |

I've got lousy circulation too. Even in summer I get cold/numb toes. In winter I use neoprene overshoes, but beware trying to squeeze in thick socks. You're better off relying on the neoprene to keep the cold out and leave room for your toes to move around. I wear thin wool socks, and lace my shoes as loose as possible. Then I try and remember to wiggle my toes about as much as possible, and exaggerate my ankle movement to help keep the blood flowing. You could also try deep heat or similar on your ankles for the same reason. It also helps to
start with warm feet - if they're warm to start with, they're more likely to stay warm. Start with them cold and they'll never warm up. |
