Default bush signs bills, but reserves privelege of ignoring the law

reagan did this, so did geo bush the 1st, but 500 times for gw bush?

who can get behind a pres who reserves the right to ignore laws from bills he signed, bills prepared by elected lawmakers?

when the pres considers himself to be above the law to this extent is the will of the people really being served?

it appears the government by and for the people has been reduced to farce.

this is stated as "little noticed", i would venture to add it is also "little reported".

Ho Chi Minh had a copy of the us constitution on his office wall, and admired it greatly.
Dubya says"It's just a piece of paper".
Then he uses it for toilet paper.
The us fought a war to free themselves of the tyranny of one king george, then 200+ years later elects another and gives him more authority than the first!
Only in america.

You mean: only in Neo Con 'Merka. As George Carlin once said: "FUCK the fucking fuckers!!"

Couldn't agree w/ you more. After agreeing w/ Senator McCain on the need to eradicate torture from VP (President) Cheneys "tool-bag", Dubya turns @ the next week and issue's a "signing-statement" indicating quite the opposite. These signing-statements HAVE TO STOP One either obeys the law or one does not obey the law. It is political trickery for Dubya to agree w/ the Senator then turn @ and ignore his previous statement. I better sign off now as my line is probably being tapped

wait a minute, if memory serves, isn't it the dems continually bearing the brunt of the "flip flopper" accusations from those of god's own party?

i see now, "staying the course" means "turning the corner" from integrity.

all the jingoism is making sense now...
