Welcome to the 2006 Youth & Junior Tour
After numerous requests the 2006 edition will for the first time include Junior categories. Unfortunatley category D and E have been dropped, however Category D riders may compete in the C category event if they wish but only on Category D gear restrictions
The opening stage will consist of an exciting prologue time trial on Douglas sea front outside the event sponsors hotel. Stage two returns to the testing Ellerslie road circuit with it's famous hill top finish and the final stage takes place on the purpose built circuit at National Sports Centre.
The Tour is sponsored for the third year by Sleepwell Hotels who provide excellent facilities and cycling friendly accommodation, only two minutes from the ferry terminal, Sleepwell Hotels also provide race HQ, bike storage and entertainment so parents can unwind and discuss the day's racing. Clerical Medical, Isle of Man Steam Packet Company and Isle of Man Tourism also support the event
Why not enter individually, as a club, region, Talent or national team for one of the UK's most exciting stage races...just ask those who have been before, parents are also catered for, the social cycling scene is second to none!
Contact the organiser here for more info
Competitors race on closed roads and compete for the yellow leaders jersey and green Points jersey. Past Tours have attracted the cream of British youth, winners include Mark McNally and Peter Kennaugh
Why not extend your stay and make a holiday of it, explore the hot bed of British cycling and discover the beautiful terrain the Isle of Man has to offer
