My friend and I are planning to bike across the United States and we are either going to take the Transamerica route or the Northern Tier route, depending on which one is more scenic and fun to ride. Please advise. Thank you.

Weather patterns vs the date you start your tour might also play a role. By the way, don't stick to the traced route, but wander around it.
