Hi guys,
I was offered a second hand bike, 4 yrs old for AU$ 2500: Ridley Compact frame, main components are Shimano Ultegra. The bike is well looked after.
Is the price reasonable?

sorry, I got carried away. The numbers have no meaning. Anyone out there who can give me an idea if the price is reasonable? I really like the bike, size is just right for me, stability etc., but I feel that it is too dear.
I have no experience at all with road bikes.

way too much.

You can get a new road bike with Ultegra for about the same price if you shop around and don't object to last years colours.

Have a look at http://www.bikes.com.au/

yep, sounds like way too much

point to consider is that when you buy a 4 year old bike, some parts could already be a little outdated. (especially in 2 or 3 years time when your parts start to wear out). You'll probably find that you want some 10 speed stuff then, and have to pay a high price for upgrades.

I would look around for a 2002 model, which are probably on sale right now (they were in italy last month)
