Question Why UK and Europe? Why not just Europe?

Why is this category called UK and Europe? The UK is in Europe.
Ireland is further west that the UK and is included in the overall Europe category.
Did I miss a seismic shift?

The English Chanal may not look very wide on a map but it was too wide for The Spanish in 1855 and too wide for Napoleon or Kaiser Bill or Hitler to get across; for 500 years we have fought to stay out of Europe and we will continue to fight.

It's just a pity we aren't allowed to sink their bloody boats any more.

Read the history books

Splendid Isolation, Splendid Isolation.

Even today, Europe is a touchy subject in British politics.

but not too wide, it would seem, for the 1022 express from Paris to Waterloo

Hi Cod, if anything Europe and UK should be two different forums. We have a lot of British members that consider themselves British first and European second. I would hate to be known as 'that guy from Europe'. I know you would feel the same.

The mods have got the categories spot on.

I dunno; I'm proud to be from Cork, and Ireland but I don't mind the idea of being from the same "area" as people like Hinault, Mercxx and Pantani.

Although his real name was Marc O'Pantani, he was originally from Tubbercurry.

I'll start a movement to get a "Luxembourg Only" forum thread started... Somehow I do have the feeling that it's just going to be me ...but that's ok !
