Tried this in Tech corner with no response, so I hope you guys and girls in this forum are able to help.
Read on. ---------------- Hi guys and girls. Quick one today - I know that ozone and UV light are the two primary causes of dry rot and rubber degredation. Just wondering if anybody had any tips for storing unused tyres? Obviously storage in cool areas, away from light and heat (UV and temperature changes), is a smart idea. I've also read that you shouldn't store tyres near electric motors, since they generate ozone. This obviously applies to running motors, but does it still apply to motors that are not running? Any other ideas for preventing rot? Cheers for your help. nerdag |

On the other hand read: http://www.autoeducation.com/carcare/tires.htm where armourall would be inscluded in one of the silicone-containing protectant that get bagged. |
