FA Premiership's up and running, I thought I'd ask the question : what team do you support ?
In England - Spurs. In Italy - Juventus. In Ireland - St Patricks Athletic FC. In Scotland - Hibernian. Been a Spurs fan since 1970 when they were managed by the legendary Bill Nick and have supported (suffered !) ever since. In those days, Spurs played beautiful football. I follow Scottish football but it's usually only contested between 2 teams and perhaps one other. So who do you support ? |

yeah, and Barry Ferguson was there for a while, your right, scrub that. i was thinking of the Keegan days. Newcastle is a retiring ground for old Rangers players. why do you like Hibernian, is it the old Irish connection becaue basically theyre pretty crud?

For next year's WC: I'll take Holland.
England: I've always been a Newcastle fan. Got a few genes from that area. ![]() Nothing else matters but those 2 tourneys. ![]()

In fairness to the Toon Army, Newcastle must be one of the best supported clubs in Britain.
That title though has always been elusive. |

The Mighty Hammers! Because I lived there for a while and I always enjoyed watching Paolo deCanio play. The best goal I ever saw was from deCanio. The ball was passed towards him, wasn't a real good pass as it was pretty high. DeCanio raced towards where the ball was going to land watching it over his right shoulder. Before it landed he leapt into the air and with both feet off the ground he shot it straight into the goal mouth.Lovely to watch. Also saw him refuse to take a clear shot because the opposition goalkeeper was down injured (West Ham was leading 2-0 and it was close to full-time).Scored again a few minutes later. It was either a pretty good piece of gamesmanship or a very sporting gesture.I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and go for the latter.

I also used to live a mile or so from Upton Park, home of the Hammers - never supported them though.
For me it has to be the team of my birthplace - Wolves. Haven't lived in Wolvo for about 20 years now but still follow their results. There's actually quite a Wolves following here in Guernsey!!! |

I remember when he used to play for Celtic...great player and very intimidting, just what you need when youre in the Old Firm.. mind you, now we have bonecrusher Balde and Hartson...the big welsh lad, things are okay. Hearts my well steal the Scots Perm this year...they have won every game this season and are running away with the league, Rangers are being humped by every amatuer team in the country right now. We'll hopefully come in first but Hearts might edge us into second.

What, no Chelsea fans here?
They kicked the crap out of Bolton last time, and are on top of the heap right now.

I remember that goal and you describe it as it happened - it was superb. The pass to him was beautifully weighted but to do what DiCanio did to score was exceptional. |

Wolves : yeah I remember them in their hayday : John Richards, Derek Dougan back in the 1970's. Great side back then. They had Steve Bull in the 1980's - great scorer. But it is a shame to see a great club like Wolves not being in the Premiership. |

Hartson is a tough nut - but he works well with the likes of Sutton and Lennon. After a shaky start Strachan seems to be doing well with the Bhoys. |
