Default what bike to buy

hello im a novice at the whole mountain biking thing and i was into bmx for a while and was wondeting what a realatively good full suspension bike i could get for under a $1000 that i could later put more money in. i will primarily be using it for downhill mountain biking and trails and some urban freeriding.
