Default 1st visit to a bike shop!

We live near Albany, GA and we went to Cycle World in Albany and checked out some bikes for my Mom. She bought a Electra townie bike which is a semi recumbent bike. This Bike is awesome compared to my $50 walmart MTB. They also had a recumbent trike. Gees this thing was so confrontable! I dont know what brand it was but it was nice.

Question Re: 1st visit to a bike shop!

I haven't owned a recumbent yet, but I'm getting enthused about them, what did she like about this model that helped her decide?

did she take to riding it easily right away, or did it take some getting used to?

Well its not a true recumbent but more of a semi recumbent. With the seat set right you are suppose to be flat footed on the ground and the angle to the pedals is just right. Shes 5' even so she likes the short bike. It has 26" tires on it. It reminds me of a chopper motorcycle. Yes she took to it right away. I rode it and its real nice. its light weight and fast and its a 21 speed.

thanks for your info and feedback

my wife is 5' 2" so she will probably like this too.
I'm 6' 1" .....could we ride the same type of cycle? Or would I need something completely different?
