By happy circumstance my wife and I have 3-4 days to bike in Ireland starting 6/28. Any suggestions regarding location and route? We land in Dublin and plan to head towards the SW, but our itinerary is open. We won't have bikes along - will have to rent. Having never been to Ireland before, I've no idea if renting a bike is an easy prospect. We have this idyllic vision of biking from pub to pub, with a comfortable B&B at the end of the day. Possible?
Any and all thoughts/advice/suggestions appreciated. |

Hi you may wish to contact Irish Cycling Safaris http://www.cyclingsafaris.com/ I know they rent Trek Hybrids and can organise the b&B's for you. The Dingle Peninsula is worth a visit although my favourite region is Connemara. Kerry has spectacular mountains but can be a bit commercialised (too many tour buses). Hope this helps Regards David ps the Guinness is Very Good! |
