I'm trying to do a little more in the way of training type rides, and it would really help to have someone to keep me company on some of the more difficult ones. I'll be doing speed intervals along Eastern Avenue, heading from Lunken Airport to downtown or so on Mondays or Tuesdays. It's all-out efforts for one minute, and then four minutes of recovery. I've been doing 8-10 repeats, and am working my way up. Speed for this ride averages about 15.5-16.5 mph, the fast parts are 20-25 mph depending on whether there's a hill or not.
On Tuesdays or Wednesdays I'll be doing hill climbs on Delta Avenue. Speed doesn't matter on this one, it's just a matter of doing whatever it takes to get up the hill. So far I've been doing 4 repeats, but I need to work up to 6 and 8. I need a lot of work here, so if you're a decent hill climber I won't be able to keep up. Nevertheless, this is the ride where I need someone to help me get out there the most. I also try to do a longer ride of 30-40 miles or so on the weekends out on the bike trail from Loveland, usually from 10:00-1:00 at 15-16 mph. Please let me know if you're interested in riding with me, even if it's just for one of these rides. ![]() |
