hi every one i recently buckled my front wheel. ive read up on the internet on how to fix them but the wheel just seems to either get more buckled or the place of the buckle moves. ive been told to spin the wheel place a bit of chalk onthe rim so i can see where needs ajusting then to tighten the spokes on the side of the chalk and loosen the ones on the other side, is it just a case of persaverance or am i doing something wrong? thanks 98matha

Why not just take it to a shop & get them to do it, it wont cost much at all & if your just making it worse by fiddling with it without really knowing what your doing it's prob for the best.
Even better take it to the shop & stay whilst it's being done taking note of what the mechanic does too fix it then next time it happens you can have a go at fixing it yourself. |

yeah take it into a shop, if your not mechanically minded enough to tell what spokes to tighten and loosen then dont attempt it, you'll probly make it worse and i work in a bike shop.. occasionally we see people try to do it themselves, end up bending the rim over and then they need a new rim or alot of time in the truing stand getting tension even again etc. if you put chalk on the rim where it comes outwards towards where your holding the chalk then obviously where the chalk is you would need to tighten spokes on the other side to pull the rim over and away from where the chalk would be if you did it again and/or loosen the other side to let the tension side pull the rim over but if you cant sortof look at it and decide how tightening or loosening a spoke is going to affect the rim, my advice is dont attempt it.
