Hello all
I am looking to put together a touring bike and I have had a whisper about a Raleigh clubman , but I am wondering if it will be suitable. I am told it is my size ( 22 inch ), made from 531 and it is 10 speed. To be fair I am only really interested in the frame as I would like to assemble my own bike What I would like to know is , could anyone tell me approximately when they were made, would the rear stays accept a newer hub ie 8 0r 9 speed campag ( I dont mind cold setting a bit ! ). Is the frame gonna be so old that it was made for 27 inch wheels , and if so would 700c fit ok.Again if so would long reach side pull ( tektro or rx100 etc ) fit. And finally how would the frame compare weight and ride wise to a more modern standard tourer like a Dawes Galaxy? A lot to ask I know but any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Limpet |
