Default 100 miles

I'd like to ride 100 miles some weekend. This would be a combination road-trail ride. I'm using semi-slick tires right now. I might be able to do it in a day if I push myself, but after that I might have to take some time off. I'm thinking 50 miles and then stop for the night, and finish the next day. Have any of you ever ridden that far? What's the farthest you've ridden in a day? Were you sore for at least two days?

The C2C (sea to sea) is 150 miles, and there is a choice of two routes: one for is a combination of trail and road (suited to touring bikes) the other is mostly off road (for mountain bikers) and is a more challenging ride. The most common time to complete it in is 3 days so I'd say 50 miles a day is realistic. I'll be doing it at a nice easy pace over 5 days next summer (like to get in some sightseeing and culture, not just cycling).

Are you in the UK? If you are then the C2C is certainly worth a look at. You could also plan a route closer to home by looking at the available NCN routes in your area (combination of on/off road riding)

The most I have done thus far is 30.5 miles on my MTB with nobby tires. I was a little tender but I rode 20 miles the next day with no problem
