I decided to start biking to work everyday, but I haven't been biking for a long time. My only cardio workout is on an ellipitical and I only used as a warmup for my workout routine.
I'm not really looking for an expensive bike...like mayb around $200-300 CAD? I didn't know there were so many kinds of bikes. I'm not sure if I need a hybrid or a moutain, but I've been checking it on canadiantire.ca. So what kind of bike would be at my price range and what type of bike do I need? The distance I believe is around 8 miles or 15 km. I'm planning to get this bike I saw someone selling for $80 CAD. What do guys think about it? void 21 speed, mens, dual shocks, grip shift...............$80 http://img33.imagevenue.com/img.php...ee_HPIM0295.JPG http://img12.imagevenue.com/img.php...af_HPIM0296.JPG http://img22.imagevenue.com/img.php...77_HPIM0297.JPG http://img39.imagevenue.com/img.php...63_HPIM0301.JPG ccm 18/21 speed, mens, excellent tires, oversized tubing, verrry good condition..........$80 http://img29.imagevenue.com/img.php...3a_HPIM0298.JPG http://img13.imagevenue.com/img.php...10_HPIM0299.JPG http://img36.imagevenue.com/img.php...41_HPIM0300.JPG I'm not planning to do long term just mayb for a month or 2 since I've hit some problems with my car for now and thought it would be good to start doing some cardio |

your links dont seem to work (maybe its just me?) but all im going to say is you pay for what you get... an $80 full suspension bike is going to be a complete PIECE, generally you need to spend minimum $1500NZD (im too lazy to convert this to your currency) to get a reasonable full suspension bike. do a bit of research, get to know the shimano gearing range, the different types of bikes and maybe go into some shops and talk to the staff to findout what you should be getting. i'd say a flatbar road bike but depends on where your riding, how and if your worried about speed or not (maybe you could go for a 700c wheeled comfort bike eg. giant elwood) but then agiant since your planning on only riding for a few months it may not matter up to you but make sure you do a bit of research before you buy

I'm not really a hardcore biker...I just to get some cardio in during the week...I'm not really looking for a $1000+ bike. Max I'll spend is probably $200-300 CAD. I was just thinking of bikes that they sell at Canadian Tire, but I'm not sure which brands are good and what features are good? I know nothing about the shimano gearing range. A link to some information would be really helpful. Thanks void 21 speed, mens, dual shocks, grip shift...............$80 http://img33.imagevenue.com/img.php...ee_HPIM0295.JPG http://img12.imagevenue.com/img.php...af_HPIM0296.JPG http://img22.imagevenue.com/img.php...77_HPIM0297.JPG http://img39.imagevenue.com/img.php...63_HPIM0301.JPG ccm 18/21 speed, mens, excellent tires, oversized tubing, ..........$80 http://img29.imagevenue.com/img.php...3a_HPIM0298.JPG http://img13.imagevenue.com/img.php...10_HPIM0299.JPG http://img36.imagevenue.com/img.php...41_HPIM0300.JPG I also just found another deal Norco Bush Pilot mountain bike $175 or best offer http://ca.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/ke...m/ph//my_photos this bike has 21 speeds. it is Shimanao 200GS gears. the shifting is the Shimano STS rapid fire index shifting system with the buttons underneath the handlebar.
