Default sub-$1500 full suspension?

Can a legitimate full suspension bike be had for less than $1500? Not competing, but wanting to ride well on x-c and general unpaved trails. After an ugly bike rack vs. power line incident totalled my '98 Canondale F500 hardtail, I finally have the reason I needed to buy up. Loyally looking at Cannondale Jekyl 600, and Trek Fuel 80, Specialized FSR XC comp, GT IDXC 3.0. Any others? I'm 6'6" 230 lbs. and ride a road bike, too. Thanks for the help.
