Default permission to be late for work (edit and print out)

Dear (Insert your name here) 's Boss;

I am writing to inform you of the reasons why (Insert your name here) has been late for work this month and will continue to be late for work everyday between now and July 24th.

It seems as though, there is a little something taking place on the other side of the Atlantic for the next few weeks that (Insert your name here) finds exhilarating. No. It’s not the hunt for weapons of mass destruction nor does it have anything to do with Al Qaeda, unless they’ve decided to shave their legs, ride bikes and now go by the name Team Hoogy-Boogy. It actually has quite a bit more to do tourists than terrorists.

Nevertheless, it is an experience that involves teamwork, strategy, endurance, drama and in my opinion, the knowledge gained by the proactive observation of this event will have a positive impact on (Insert your name here) 's overall job performance.

For you see, watching the likes of Lance Armstrong, Ivan Basso, Alexandre Vinokourov, Alejandro Valverde and other names you can’t pronounce, take the human body to its absolute limit with heart rates maxing, lungs burning for another gasp of oxygen, calf muscles exploding, battling 12,000 foot climbs day after day in the French alps during the Tour de France will put the crap you put (Insert your name here) through all day long in perspective. Wouldn't you agree?

Even though (Insert your name here) may be a bit hoarse when arriving at work, I want to thank you for your understanding and applaud your ability to lighten up.
