Or the lack of it here, anyway. On most forums you can start a thread to send condolences or express a thought to someone we know, or to a specific incident (The London bombings, etc). But some people here seem to be confused by this.
Some seem unable to control themselves, while others seemed to have missed their meds. You write a line, or two at most, expressing your sorrow and best wishes, then shut the hell up.PERIOD. You don't rattle on, you don't say "My tragedy is worse than your tragedy." And, I think most of us will agree, you don't insult the people with moronic statements. Just because a stupid thought goes into your head, that doesn't mean it HAS to come out on the keyboard. Whether you're pro-this or anti-that shouldn't matter. Where not talking about the "Your president is a bigger crook than my president" threads. I'm talking about the threads where someone, or all of us, have suffered a tragedy or loss. And I'm sure a few with flame onto this thread. So, in advance, here's my replies: "Oh Yeah!" "Says You!" "Your Mother wears army boots!" "I'll get you at recess." "So there "

While I agree with you I will say that you have to understand that you are dealing with people from all over the world on this site...Many extraordinarily different cultures, backgrounds, upbringings and most importantly...experiences. I get miffed from time to time at some of the comments that have been posted but I remember that my computer is a gateway to a very vast world... ![]()

I've gotten the most insults tring to save the 40 hour work week.
That is my little cause. Big cause is a tad of E-preaching from time to time. And marketing with out spaming. Ocassionally I'll cross a line. One forum had a place for reviews and they deleted my review. Guess they only wanted movie reviews but this was not made clear. Also funny is when a forum states "anything goes" then they get upset if someone posts about religion or a busisness opportunity. But over all I've found the internet a great place to interact with new people. I've met people with my same name on many different contenents. One even considered moving to Colorado from Japan but ended up in California due to a bigger sign on bonus. I'm more websurf then webmaster. I'm mainly here for some E-fun. |

We do have an etiquette on this soapbox forum which has evolved between ourselves over a period of time. It is basically regulated in house and never failed yet. I am sure that there are sites that will cope with your criteria elsewhere. BTW. I don't remember the Tsunami being mentioned either, we deal with these things on an individual basis. Also you will never ever find that any contributor on here ever refers to any member of that persons family. So clear off right now. Ya don' come back now. Jest keep ridin' on boy.

Yes. We "police ourselves. All of us are adults, w/ a few exceptions & even those, few, show a level of maturity above the average. Here's a bit of friendly advice. Don't go to the soapbox for heart-felt compassion. Everyone is spread out across the globe & consequently has diffent world views. This is the feckin' internet for cryin out loud. The "thin-skinned" are well advised to steer clear of the soapbox. There are a multitude of other threads within this very forum which will exhibit more decorum. As FredC pointed out, there are quite a few "regular's" here; myself included, & we get to know the propensities/leanings of such individuals. If you stick @ long enough, you will find that you know what many are going to say in response to your raving's...errr...post's-that is. In summation-clear off !!! Only joking ![]()

We stopped talking about this more than a week ago. Did it take you this long to read it, or to come up with this clever retort? So, when one fellow wanted to show respect for the London bombing victims and another fellow mocked him with "who let the dogs out," that's acceptable, but you won't allow someone who "refers to any member of that persons family?"...HMMM, curious. Please, tell me more about the rules of your forum.

I've kept my eye on the ball, always do. The other regular posters know what I have been doing while I've been occupied elsewhere to conclude a two year project on Eurosport for the benefit of posters worldwide. It's up and running now. Well you'll just have to get used to it. You will find that the regulars on here are in general Rednecks, English, Irish, and Scots. I suggest that you get back to the Bike Cafe to ply your wares.
