I am in the market for my first road bike. I am looking to do a triathlon this summer. I have been searching everywhere for a bike. I came across a brand new Orbea Aspin for $800. I am concerned about the components. It has campagnolo xenon components. Everyone has told me to be sure and get shimano 105 components at least. Does anyone know anything about Campagnolo Xenon , are they comparable to shimano 105?

well that is a hard thing to compare BUT... Xenon is the lowest priced grouppo that Campy offers so it is NOT comparable to 105. For that you would be talking Veloce in the Campy line-up. Who is everyone? It really depends on how much you want to spend and how much commitment you want. Cheaper stuff won't last as long as the good stuff so if you are serious about triathlon you'd be better off getting the best you can afford now and upgrade later if you can afford it.
