Two days ago I started seeing intermittent low data - both speed and wattage - on my PowerTap SL. At 20 mph, I see 14 (corroborated by other riders next to me); wattage at 140 when I know it should be at around 200. Occasionally it would jump back to normal. Yesterday the entire ride with one small exception was at the wrong, lower levels. The bad data shows in the download as well.
HR is showing fine. Not sure about cadence - seeing some strange occasional numbers. Anyone else had this problem, or have thoughts? DParker (I'll be calling Graber this am but have found the input off this board in many cases superior to Graber's customer service...) |

You should call Cyclops. THe Sls have essentially been recalled.

Hi Jerry,
Do you know when the SL's were recalled. I have friends that have SL's that would be interested in that news. Marty |

I called Cycleops and they only suggested changing the batteries, which I did (and which seems to have solved the problem, at least initially). No mention of a recall.

I'm pretty sure there was never an SL recall. Many SL users had failures, and Saris essentially had to revise their production line for the hubs. Those of us who had problems returned our hubs, Saris temporarily sent out Pro wheels as "loaners" and more-or-less rebuilt the SL hubs and installed new firmware (v.2.21) in the cpus. They said the problems arose from "quality control" issues, whatever that meant. But all along there were some lucky SL owners whose units worked perfectly, so they didn't need to be rebuilt. So there was never a recall of all SLs, just an extensive repair program. As of about 2 weeks ago, Saris was not making any new SLs, just fixing the ones that had been returned.
