Obama certainly has a lot of potential. He is gaining quite a bit of notereity around the nation, and around these parts (I'm in Illinois) he seems on track to become some sort of demi-god. He is young, charismatic, and well-spoken. BUT, one of his attractive qualities is that he knows his place as the "junior senator from Illinois" and acts accordingly. I consider myself conservative on most issues but I still like this guy. I think he's got tons of potential to represent the democratic party at the highest levels and break through some "glass ceilings" in the process, but I don't think he should be in a hurry to do so. I think '08 is a little early for him (and as Zapper points out, it seems doubtful he has time to surpass Clinton in support).

Don´t see Americans electing a black president , a Jewish president or a female one in my lifetime . It´s still the preserve of the white christian male and will be for a long time to come .
