The 5900 is approx. 50 gr. lighter but it's US$700 more than the 5500. Is it worth to spend that much, i don't know.Give me your views.Thanks.

I hear the 5900 is much stiffer/lighter. 5500 more compliant/heavier. Just depends on what you want. I think that Trek should have Lance's new bike coming out soon? Why not wait for that..

Here's a blow-by-blow comparison of the two:
http://www.trekbikes.com/bikes/2003...6000&bike3=null As well as the frame, there's also a difference in wheelset and other misc. bits. I guess it all depends on if those benefits are worth the extra US$700 to you.. I know that either one would be completely wasted on me! ![]()

I have a 5500. It is fantastic. best bike I have ever ridden - comfortable and stiff!

last years us postal, mainly blue some grey, deda newton stem etc - looks just like lance's
