I wrecked pretty bad a week ago and bent my steerer tube. The guy at the bike shop said all I could do was buy a new fork. But can I order a crown and steerer and just swap that out or do the legs not detach? It kinda seems like they don't. Any help is greatly appreciated!

As tough as it is to hear, it is probbably not cost-effective to do that to a C. The parts cost and work involved will be near the cost of a similar or slightly upgraded unit, so I would say bite the bullet and get a whole new unit. There is also a chance that there will be other internal dammage such as deformed bushings from a crash like that.

if you did replace it, you would be replacing the whole upper part: steerer, crown, stanchions (sp?) and possibly some other internals connected with the upper parts, waste of time and money unless its an older design (i dunno if rockshox ever did this) and you can unbolt the crown from the stanchions and your lucky enough to find spares for it then what i said before... and yeah considering its just a judy C i wouldnt bother

I would agree with the other posters, it is possible but probably not worth it.
