Default I think this bike looks baaaaad!

http://http://www.lemondbikes.com/i...arge/sarthe.jpgA Lemond Sarthe. Gotta love the retro Eddie Merckx color! True Temper steel frame AND a front carbon fork - I bet the ride is like air. Campy Veloce shiftters/derailleurs.

Probably my next bike when I get some cash (about $1500).

Awesome or not?

In my opinion, NOT. Mainly because of the name on the bike.

I see what you mean, but don't think that is a good reason not to buy what seems to be a very nice machine. Yeah those names! Serotta's high line carbon fiber/ titanium lug bike the Ottrott, sounds like some awful condition of the bowels! A great bike by all reports though.

Maybe when asked he will just say it's a LeMond.

Awesome or not as long as it says Trek, Lemond or Bontrager ,USPS, Discovery Channel, Yellow Jersey then the answer is NO. Like LA said "ITS all about the bike".

Actually, I took that thing for a ride the other day, man it was fun. I am pretty new to cycling, so I might not have the best feel for bikes, but I liked it.

Life is all about ' the image' lest we are too blind to see that or too foolish to admit it.

Like yourself liking yourself.

Well if this guy likes the Lemond and he should like liking himself then he should forget what other people say about Trek and Lemond and get the bike. Easy as pie.

I LOVE the bike. In fact, I almost bought it a few months ago when I was looking into cycling as hobby (it's now growing into an obsession)! Luckily, I didn't buy it for the $1599 asking price since I found a used Lemond Zurich with Ultegra and DurAace for $900. It's not exactly orange, but I love it anyway.

I say ride the BIke, if you like it get it, if you dont like it dont. Just because someone isn't buying some one off hand made dream machine doesn't mean they are getting crap. Its a decent bike, with reliable components and a fair price, if you like the ride get it, who cares what someone else thinks.
