Question 8-spd freewheel on a 8-spd Dura-ace bike?

I am thinking about buying a used wheel with an old 8 speed freewheel ( not cassette). Do you think this will work on my bike which has a dura-ace 8 speed. Will the spacing be the same so that I don't have to adjust the derailleur every time I switch wheels? Thanks for your help.
