Cool Disc Advice

Hi All,

I just purchased the Hayes HFX MAG HD 8" hydro discs from Cambria bikes...

The hayes URL is: http://www.hayesdiscbrake.com/maghd.cfm

I am a little confused on if I will need an adapter. I have '00 (or is it 01) Manitou Sx 100 forks http://photos.end0.net/albums/userpics/10001/pushy2.jpg.

I was planning on using a 6" rotor rather then the 8, if its possible.

Will the caliper bolt straight on, or will I need a 74mm to 51m adapter?

Also for measuring, do I just measure centre of hole to center of hole?

Thanks

Hayes calipers are designed to fit the 74mm post-type mount. I like the post mount better, partly due to the fact it can be adapted to the 51mm IS mount. The other way wont work. You should be able to mount the caliper without adapters/extenders to make it work with a 6 inch rotor.

Aloha Endo,
You will need the hayes IS to Hayes adapter. If you're going to use the 8" you'll need the same except for an 8" rotor. Your LBS should have one on
hand. Especially the 6" version (much more common).
Aloha
