Hi folks, it's been a while since I last posted, but the planning for the bike tour of Europe has been going swimmingly. We've got plane tickets and travel documentation for our Europe adventure, but I have one question. We're arriving in London by plane, and want to make it to Paris by that night. The Eurostar looks like the best option (especially if we get the CHEAPEST late night tickets they offer!), but I can't find any details on the location of the train station. How can we get from the airport to the Eurostar train station? We'd rather bicycle it, to save money if possible. Lastly, I'm trying to find the closest available (and least expensive) hostel in Paris that we could reach from the Eurostar train station - anyone have any suggestions? I'll be hugely grateful for anyone's response! Thanks a million! Cheers.

Hi there, it depends on which airport you are arriving at, London has 4 main international airports. Heathrow http://www.baa.com/main/airports/heathrow/ Stansted http://www.baa.com/main/airports/stansted/ Gatwick http://www.baa.com/main/airports/gatwick/ Luton http://www.london-luton.co.uk/ if you are coming from the US it will probably be Heathrow or Gatwick. Jump on the Heathrow express right into the city center http://www.heathrowexpress.com/ this takes you to Paddington Station and operates from the main terminal 1, 2 and 3 every 15 mins. For Gatwick click here http://www.gatwickexpress.com/ it arrives in Victoria station. the Eurostar http://www.eurostar.com leaves London Waterloo international. This is 4 miles away from Paddington and shouldnt take you long to bike it. if you click on http://www.multimap.com and at the top choose 'directions'. you can enter Paddington and Waterloo stations and get the road directions between the two. I visit London a lot, i was there last weekend for 2 days... i love it. anyway, as for Paris sorry i cant help you there... ![]() |

Thanks for the info MountainPro, it's exactly what I needed
. I'm coming from Canada (eh?), so you're right, I'll probably land in Heathrow or Gatwick. I'm much obliged to you for the information! Cheers. |
